my experience with this clinic is that dr nealon is a very good endodontist. his office staff however told me, and presumably other prospective patients, that it was a legal necessity to charge for a consultation for a root canal on my tooth. my primary dentist had recommended it from the work she had done on the tooth in preparation for a crown, and from my ongoing symptoms we both determined i needed the treatment. i questioned this additional $185 charge (along with $1,900 charge for the work) with his staff explaining it was not necessary. she was extremely rude, aggressive, talked over me, and ultimately tried to shame and humiliate me. i have never been treated this poorly in any medical office anywhere. the fact that his office staff are telling patients something that is not true; legally there is no mandate in california requiring endodontists to charge for consultations, and the distressing behavor of his staff destroys the trust a patient needs. no matter how good the endodontist is, this reflects on his business practice and how his staff are trained to deal with the public and i would not recommend his services.

Dr. Matthew Nealon and his entire staff are absolutely wonderful. From the very first consultation to my daughter’s filling yesterday, Dr. Nealon calmly and thoroughly explained every step of what he would do to take care of her molar. He made both my daughter and me feel informed, comfortable, and at ease throughout the whole process. The best way I can describe his presence is somewhere between Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross — calm, kind, gentle, reassuring, and genuinely caring. You can immediately tell how incredibly knowledgeable and intelligent he is, yet what stands out even more is how humble he is. Even with all the Ivy League and elite schools he attended, there is absolutely no arrogance or bragging about him. He is deeply respectful, compassionate, and treats both his patients and staff with such kindness. His staff are also amazing — very sweet, youthful in spirit, professional, and welcoming. Everyone there helps create such a peaceful and uplifting environment. Even the office itself reflects the care they put into everything. I never thought I'd go out of my way to write a review for a root canal specialist but here we are. This was better than going to the regular dentist for a checkup?? Dr. Nealon is incredible and the staff was amazing and so kind. I hope your dentist refers you here as mine did and if you found yourself looking here just to see, do it! Highly recommend. I did mine the day before Thanksgiving and was even able to eat the next day with minimal to no pain! Start to finish this is the place to go.

I went to Dr. Nealon for a root canal last month. I'd never had such a procedure before, and was apprehensive, as the very term "root canal" is frightening. But now I needed help urgently as I'd had a toothache that was growing worse as the days went on. I'd visited three dentists to get a diagnosis as to the cause of the toothache, and to my dismay, I got a different diagnosis from each of the 3 dentists, with only one indicating I likely needed a root canal. But I had a lot of confidence in this 3rd dentist, as she showed a lot of care in time spent with me, struck me as quite knowledgeable, and had diagnostic tools that the other 2 dentists lacked. She referred me to Dr. Nealon, and his examination confirmed her diagnosis. The root canal procedure was painless, and Dr. Nealon has a marvelously gentle and caring approach. He speaks in a soft tone that puts one at ease, and keeps you informed every step of the way as to what he is doing, which also puts one's mind at ease. His fee was quite reasonable, and I felt enormous gratitude to be free from 3 weeks of toothache pain after the root canal was done. I can't recommend Dr. Nealon highly enough, and will certainly return to

I’ve been to Dr. Nealon’s practice twice in the last couple of years, most recently for a root canal. He did an outstanding job, exercising great care, patience, and skill. I had no pain, just some sensitivity, which disappeared in the number of days he predicted. Each member of the staff I interacted with is also very kind and competent. Highly recommended!
